Rush Limbaugh’s death and the Death of Civility in America

IN MY OPINION – Copyright 2021, Tim Besmer, Sr. All Rights Reserved

As the world knows, Rush Limbaugh died yesterday at the age of 70 from lung cancer.

When I heard the news I immediately felt a sense of loss as did those individuals that enjoyed his show and agreed with his views.

I’ve listened to him from the very beginning of his show in the 1980’s until his last show. I’ve listened for decades.

I enjoyed listening to his viewpoints and insights and I admired his ability to say what I felt when I couldn’t find the words.

Did I agree with everything he said?  Never.  But which of us has ever said things we were later sorry for?  All of us.   He apologized for those things.

Last year, President Trump awarded him the Medal of Freedom. I believe it was an award long overdue.

While I have spoken out against the dead before, namely those that I have disagreed with or disliked , two such individuals being Kobe Bryant and John McCain, I did so because of what they did in life IN MY OPINION to harm fellow human beings and veterans etc.   HOWEVER,  I never cursed their memory or said some of the truly hateful things I saw online regarding Rush and also about his family.   I never wished them to burn in hell or to rest in piss.

I spoke truth as to their illegal and immoral antics in life but I hoped they received salvation before death.

What upset me most were the posts from some “Facebook friends” (if you can call them friends) I grew up with and from my hometown in New Jersey such as posts made by one woman from my hometown, Rose Marie Grillo – Navas.

This same individual Grillo-Navas has a habit of posting hateful vitriol about others online but this post really showed her immaturity.

What I learned most from some of these tweets I found online and Facebook posts from Hollywood celebrities, politicians and yes, my home town “friends”, is how base some people can become.   How sad and pathetic the lives are that these people must lead.
You read their online dossiers and they post self congratulatory accolades about saving stray and homeless animals yet they loathe their fellow man.  They truly take joy in the human sufferings and unimaginable grief of others.

Rush’s family DESERVES to suffer immense grief and shame according to their warped ways of thinking.

The ultimate lesson I learned from posts like that of Grillo-Navas is that people like her not only think of Rush Limbaugh in this fashion, but they think of YOU and ME this way as well.

These malevolent dirt-bags and rejects of normal society also hold 74 million of us, their fellow countrymen who are conservative and/or who voted for Donald Trump in contempt and with the same loathing.  They have not one iota of decency or honor. NONE WHATSOEVER. Again, how sad their lives must be.

I posted a “comment” on Grillo-Navas Facebook about how her posts about Limbaugh’s death were a “testament of her true character” and of course, my comment was quickly deleted by her.    Her friends chimed in how gleeful they were at the death of a fellow human being and how “wonderful” his death was.

These disgusting human beings like David Cross, OGAG and Bette Middler, Grillo- Navas et al. detest all things good , decent and honorable.

One such example is here :

These phonies like Grillo – Navas truly take joy in the human sufferings and unimaginable grief of others. Rush’s family DESERVES to suffer immense grief and shame according to their warped ways of thinking.

Many in our country have truly lost their moral compass and any honor or dignity they may have ever had.  I don’t think that individuals such as these can ever be redeemable members of a civilized society.

When these disgusting individuals think more of a stray dog then a fellow human being with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and of his family who is most certainly hurting, it doesn’t put their integrity much higher then the animals in the food chain they claim to want to help. The old adage is, “You talk to a dog and it will wag it’s tail.”  That’s about the depths of their honor and intelligence.

God bless the memory of Rush Limbaugh and may God comfort his family at this difficult time.

To those taking glee and joy from the death of any human being, SHAME ON YOU !

I have never seen such hate in people. They don’t care if they destroy people’s lives or livelihoods. We were lucky to have Rush for all these years.

Tim, thanks for posting my feelings exactly. Shameful there are such hateful, heartless people who spew garbage. Rest In Peace Rush, a job well done by a great American.

So well written and true. There are no words to describe such hatred. One day they will stand before God and give account if their lives. Thank you for such a great article.

As always another fulfilling an thought provoking thought from you Tim. This human filth that survives within our borders is truly amazing. Should they speak this way in other countries they would be jailed or worse. Here nothing happens an they continue to spew their falsehoods.

People are Harding their hearts against one another. There will be grave consequences, not in this realm but the next.

I read a lot of those terrible posts, Tim. Just incredible how far this country has fallen. Heal? I don’t see how it ever happens. I’m glad I’m 63.

Tim you are absolutely correct. most of these people are morally corrupt psychotic demented people who couldn’t be and are not christain. To wish such horrid disgusting wishes on anyone is truly ungodly and these people will have to stand at the gate and explain to get in. All we can do is ignore these hateful vindictive people and let GOD deal with them because he will.

Why do people HATE so much…………… is it because they think it is the right thing to do? Is it because they really don’t understand the person that they supposedly hate? or is it because they want to be accepted by their peers? Rush spoke from his heart…..what he actually believed in………… We all have that right to speak what we believe………… and people have the right not to listen…………. Stop the hatred…….
I hope & pray that Rush rests in peace………… he was a good man.

The jealousy, hatred, envious nature of people has always been a part of human nature. Now it is more easily espoused . RIP Mr. Limbaugh..
